From 5th position and you go ahead and make it 40$ to go when all fold to you. 7 seat calls, one blind calls.
Three way on the flop and you're in 2nd position-- board comes:
Ten Diamonds Eight Spade Six Diamonds
Giving you almost the nut draw and two overs, plus aggression pre-flop.
BB checks, you fire out 50$ into a 125$ pot. Cold caller raises you to 130$ and the BB folds.
*Question, do you fold here, raise here, or muck here?
I smooth called, the turn brought a : Oueen Hearts and I checked? (I don't know why was hoping he'd check behind me and give me a free one)
He bet out 200$. I was invested already 40$ + 130$ = 170$ with quite a pot out there. I had started the hand with 625$ and I pushed it all in here.
He called, had 7-9s and I failed to hit my flush.
Horrible poker?
Just can't seem to let the hand go, I think I should have fired out on the turn...? |

Bitter pill to swallow but the raise on the flop should have had you worried, and you gave away uncertainty in checking after the turn which would have given him some idea that you werent that confident in your hand - which was enough to give him the go ahead to raise you.
I understand how you felt having committed so much into a large pot, and on a better day you might have made your flush, but sometimes you have to save what you can. |
