$50 NL Table, $0.50/$1 blinds.

I am on the button holding Ace Spade King Hearts

One raise in front of me to $5. I call. Both blinds call.

Flop is Ace Hearts Queen Diamonds Jack Diamonds .

Both blinds check. Raiser bets $10 into a $22 pot. Should I fold?

I call. Both blinds fold.

Turn is a blank - Three (trey) Spade
Raiser checks. What should I do? I bet $5. Totally weak I know. Raiser calls.

River is a Three (trey) Diamonds .

Raiser goes all in for his last $25. Should I call?

I fold. I suspect that he had trips all along and the river made him his boat. I think he was hoping I was on the flush draw.

I played this hand terribly. I think I should have raised the flop bet to see where I was at. Since I didn't, I think I should have checked the turn rather than throw any more money in there. If I had, I think he would have bet smaller on the river and I could have called for value. Who knows, I might have been leading that hand the whole time.

Anyway, I suck! That was terrible all around.

I think you answered your own question... raise the flop here, to find out where you're at. Min. raise would do, I think? Wink That's really a shitty flop as he could have EASILY flopped two pair with A/Q or A/J ... or trip Queens/Jacks. At best here I think you're looking at a split pot.

Raise the flop here, since you didn't - I'd of checked the turn then figured it out on the river. *shrug* Tough hand. Also you gave NO information as to what kind of player this is? Online notes help Seed!!!!

Either raise after the flop to try and see if he is holding a hand/potential hand, and if not he folds out and you take the pot.

If he takes you on, even raises, then I get out, quickly. Theres no point putting more into the pot especially by the time you got to the river. It would have been a nice pot to win, but the hands he may have had were numerous and strong.

Yeah, your post-hand assessment was correct and ya know, it's easy to say that now.

You played the hand... ok, you weren't assertive enough though, making you seem weak and that gave your opponent the confidence over your hand. A little stronger, and you would have possibly taken a free pot or known better than to stay in the hand as long as you did.
