|

| I am curious how some of you would have played this. I am dealt KQ on the button at a $5/$10 table. One call to me so I raise. SB folds, BB calls and first caller calls. Flop comes QQ3. Both players check to me so I raise. BB calls other folds. Turn comes 7. Check to me, I raise. River is a 10. (No flush possibility either) I have the Queen set with a King kicker. BB checks, I raise. He calls. He beats me with an AQ. Why wouldn't he have raised (especially on the river)? Since he was calling from BB, should I have not been raising? |

You played it correctly. Being the agressor pre-flop a check raise attempt would have probably just given them free cards.
Perhaps BB was worried about a made full house, and let you do the betting for him/her.
Having said that I think you played it spot on. |

| You played it right. Some guys won't raise late on the river unless they have the nuts. Even if he had raised, there is so much money in the pot that you would have called. His not raising did you a favor. Keep playing that hand that way, and you will run into Q-10 or 3-3 a lot more often than you will Q-A. |

Well, I think you played it right.... but the BB just played it righter.
Since it's no limit you honestly can't raise that much,
had it been, it's likely he would have been scared out of calling if you raise big |

| Be happy he wasn't a good player. You would've lost at least 2 bb more. |

..both players check to me so I raise.
Raises only happen preflop or if someone else has bet. You want to say that both players check to you so you bet. Sorry to be a pain in the ass, but that drives me crazy...lol.
You played it fine. Now that you know how passive this guy is, back off when he does raise. |

| I think you played it really well. The odds of him having AQ, especially the way he played.... the was bad luck that is all. I bet you win that hand 9 out of 10 times. |
