Hello to all,Im thinking of improving my play.
I am writing this subject not because i have been losing lately, but rather quite the opposite. i have won a lot of money for my standards in the past week. i've only played in ($20 to $50 buy-in) NL tourney style games. i played with friends after the super bowl and finished top 2 and split the first 5 or 6 games and made some good $$, friday there was a 77 man($50) event were i finished 3rd, and last night there was a 35 man($50) event were i finished 2nd after splitting the pot. i can't beat the 2/4 no foldem at foxwoods and did ok in the sunday tourneys but they just cancelled them. i don't have the bank to play higher limits down at foxwoods. i have read a lot of the books mentioned here except supersystem. i am admittingly a supertight player who is aggressive preflop with a good hand, and very, i repeat, very weak player post flop. i lay down the winning hand way too much, but i feel like i can beat these games if i don't risk my chips when i may or may not have the best of it. i know if i want to play seriously i need to change this style. it is the perfect style for the games i play up here, but if i play against other tight players down in a foxwoods tourney, i think i would be in trouble. my question is how can i improve my game? foxwoods just cancelled their sunday NL $65 buy-in, which gave me very good experience against different players than i am used to. i can't improve playing these tourney style home games but i just don't know what else i can do besides re-reading sklansky and playing the free rolls at paradise. is this enough to improve or does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks for any replies.

Your laydowns probably doesn't cost you too much in a tourney setting, where the timing of gambles seems more important then making a few marginal folds too many. In a ring game against tough opponents they will pick up your post flop weakness easily and start pushing you around. I think that all you can do really is to practise and keep evaluating your play after each session. You've already started to focus on laying down too much after the flop. Investigate the exact nature of these situations and experiment with playing back at them. When it comes down to balls reading wont solve your problem. Practice is the only way ahead.
