| will you ever draw to a flush if the board is paired, when and why. does it depend on if its a tourney/ring game? |

Limit/No Limit?
Limit, if the pot is giving me more than the usual pot odds for drawing to a flush and it is not like QQJ , yes.
QQJ might already be full, while QQ4 is less likely so.
Also Q44 is preferable to QQ4, because the bettor is more likely to be betting Qx in the first case.
No Limit...not if I can help it. Make the nut flush and not be able to raise destroys any implied odds. |

| Why cant you raise here? I know, the board is paired but man....having the nut flush is almost an automatic raise...right? Maybe it depends on the paired cards. Like the one guy said, if the board is QQJ..I'm not happy. If the board is K33 then I'm raising hard! |

An example of why you can't raise with the flush when the board is paired (it's not a hard and fast rule... you can do anything you want... but the point is it's dangerous)
I was in a tournament recently... and made the nut flush on the river, but it paired the board, and a guy who had been checking and calling the whole way (I had one pair and the flush draw... and I sort of suspected he was trapping with a strong hand, but he never re-raised me) started to reach for chips... then checked and looked right at me... I just "knew" he had flopped two pair, and hit his full house... I checked, and lost the pot... and he was STUNNED I didn't bet on the river...
when you make a flush against a paired board... the chance that you could lose it all is too much to raise it... |

Sure you can. What about:
you [As Ks]
flop [2s 8s Kd]
turn [Kh]
I could bet that very easily, and will. Now if you argue I'm betting my tripK and not fl draw. Well, your choices are fold/call/raise. |
